Bilstein 5100 Series Shocks, the Perfect Addition to your Lift Kit or Leveling Kit
The Bilstein 5100 Series Shocks are designed specifically for your lifted vehicle. These shock absorbers feature a corrosion resistant zinc finish and vehicle specific valving. 5100 Series shocks use Bilstein's superior single tube high gas pressure design for consistent fade-free performance and long life. Bilstein's patented Digressive self-adjusting valving delivers improved damping control and a smooth ride for your Toyota Tacoma on all road surfaces at any speed.

The Advantage of Bilstein's Monotube Design
Heat is one of the major detriments to the performance and longevity of any shock absorber. Conventional designed shocks trap the heat within the shock body and do not let it adequately dissipate, making them prone to heat build up, fade and eventual failure.

Bilstein's technically superior, monotube gas charged design allows the excessive heat from the oil to transfer to the outer surface of the shock body and dissipate more efficiently. Gas pressure on the dividing piston exerts force on the oil column which prevents aeration (foaming) and viscosity loss. This allows the shock to maintain full damping characteristics under all conditions.

Note: Price shown is for (1) shock, quantity (2) shocks required for most applications.

Dear Suspensionconnenction, My 2004 Toyota Tacoma 4x4 has a pair of rear overload leaf springs that raise it up just a tad. As it sits, the drivers side shock mounts are 17 1/4" apart, the passenger side shock mounts are 18 1/2" apart. Would these mounting points fall within the travel length of the Bilstein 5100's? Would you recommend a different shock for my truck? Thanks!
These Bilstien shock would work perfectly on this application. They are one of the best ranked shock on the market today.

Review Product
I put on the front and rear shocks and struts with a 1.5" add-a-leaf. I used the original springs which are pretty squishy, so I left the adjustment to the highest level. I got about 1.5" of lift overall and it appears to sit level, even though measurement from the center of the fender to the ground is still closer to the stock stance. I have to say that these are a necessity for any Taco owner looking for a cheap improvement. Immediately I noticed the difference in handling over small bumps. There's a rough on-ramp which I take daily and if I was at 35mph previously, I thought I would roll my truck sometimes. Now I can take it at about 45mph and it feels smoother than before. It flies over certain rough road a hell of a lot smoother than before. The best part is that my tires no longer rub (265/70/16). The only thing that I don't like is, at about 75mph+ it feels like my truck gets "floaty", but hey, I'm speeding at that point anyhow.
